November 2009 Workshops in Penang
The
Creative Garden
Children with Special Needs have to struggle with many aspects of learning,
especially in communication and social behaviour. But the unique potential of
every child, like the seed of a special plant, must be treasured and valued. The
seed must be carefully tended and cultivated in order to grow into a healthy
thriving plant.
Dr. Sue Jennings shares her wealth of creative ideas, techniques and skillsdrawn
from years of experience so we can learn more about how to take care of the
fragile plants in our gardens. Who
is Dr Sue Jennings? Sue is Author of books,
Traveller and Creative Group Worker Supervisor, Play Therapist and
Dramatherapist. For more details, go to

The
Healing Tree
Creative Arts and Play Therapies are particularly effective in
helping children to express their feelings and thoughts, thereby helping them to
find their own way of coping with crisis, trauma, violence and disruption in
their lives.
This series of workshops is meant for practitioners who have some knowledge of
and experience in therapeutic work with children. The objective is to extend
their ‘Portfolio of Skills and Strategies’ so they can make effective use of the
widest possible range of techniques and materials in working with challenging
children.
Each workshop focuses on a specific range of issues so participants can explore
the particular application and healing processes for each group while deepening
their understanding of the general principles of therapeutic work with children.
